Carolyn Phillips

Carolyn S. Phillips, 79, of Carthage Mo passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Carthage Health and Rehab. She was born February 14, 1937 in Carthage, Missouri to Claude Scott and Iva “Parrell” Scott. She was a lifetime resident of Carthage, was a homemaker and door greeter for Walmart for several years. She was a member of the Eagle Club of Lamar Mo and was a member of the First Christian Church, of Carthage.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Jackie Lee Burns in April of 1957 in Diamond Mo. He passed away May 10, 1973. She later married Jimmie Lee Phillips on February 24, 1974 in Carthage, who later passed.

Survivors include 3 sons, Jeffrey Burns (Lisa) pf Wood River, Illinois, John Burns of Fayetteville Arkansas, and Joe Burns (Julie) of Carthage, 3 step-sons, Ronnie, Mark, and Jimmie Phillips, and 1 step-daughter, Brenda Witjen, 7 grandchildren, Tasha, Kara, Samantha, Scott, Steve, Lane, and John Jr., and 6 great-grandchildren, Ivy, Ace, Angel, Haylee, Jon, and Kaylea. She was preceeded in death by two infant sons, Jerry and Jimmy.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-7 Thursday evening on July 7, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park Cemetery of Carthage Missouri. Contributions will be made to the Cancer Society in the care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
