Donald E Mitchell of Seneca passed away July 30, 2016. Don was born October 29, 1931, in Neosho, Missouri. He married Shirley Melton Mitchell January 20, 1951. She survives. He was very proud to celebrate their 65th anniversary last January. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mabel Mitchell; also son Clint Mitchell and Son-in-law Steve Ball.
Don owned and operated Seneca Lumber Co, and Trails End Antiques. He was an avid antiquer and auction goer. He was known as "Pop" to his family, a very giving, knowledgeable man who was loved by many. He loved his Lord and served as a Baptist Deacon for over 40 years.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Donna Whitehead and Clinton and Susan Ball of Seneca, 4 grandchildren: Angela Nesvold and Rob; Stephanie Sinclair and Ray; Jared Whitehead and Sheila; Stacey Curtis and Mike. Also 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
Services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Seneca First Baptist Church with visitation immediately following. Bro. Aaron Weibel and Bro. John St. Clair will officiate. A graveside service will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho, MO, at9:00 am on Wednesday, August 3rd.
Family will serve as pallbearers: Clinton Whitehead, Jared Whitehead, Rob Nesvold, Ray Sinclair, Mike Curtis, Lane Hembree, Blaine Whitehead, Cole, Whitehead, Grant Hoover, Tanner Nesvold and Jordan Ramos.
