Paul Benard Graskemper, 79 of Joplin, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 p.m. at Joplin Gardens following an extended illness.
Paul was born October 20, 1936 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the late John Graskemper and Rose Wicker Graskemper. Paul was a 1954 graduate of Pierce City High School and then entered the U.S. Army. Paul retired from King Press Manufacturing as an assembler, retiring in 2002 after 36 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Joplin.
Paul married Betty L. Clark in Miami, Oklahoma on October 21, 1968, she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include sons, Chris Graskemper of Joplin, Doug Graskemper and wife, Amy of Carl Junction, Ben Graskemper of Joplin; daughters, Sherry Bates and husband, Keith of Grove, Oklahoma, Marilynn Doty of Sarcoxie, Royce Ann Ruddick of Joplin, Cammie Graskemper of Carthage; brothers, Raymond Graskemper of Warsaw, Missouri, Robert Graskemper and wife, Loretta of Pierce City; sisters, Lenore Wagner of Pierce City and Loretta Rosewicz of Joplin; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Other than his parents, a sister, Juanita Abramovitz preceded Paul in death.
Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Joplin. A Prayer Service is planned for Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary with visitation to follow.
