Richard Alumbaugh

Richard Nelson Alumbaugh went to Heaven on Tuesday July 12, 2016 in Springfield. 

Richard was born January 4, 1952 to William Nelson and Dorothy Mae “Davis” Alumbaugh. He was a Carthage High School Class of 1970 member. He was a member of the FFA. Richard worked for Walmart and Schreiber Cheese before beginning his career at Southwestern Bell of 34 years. 

Richard married Lyn “Fullerton” Alumbaugh January 22, 1972. They were married and attended Fairview Christian Church. They had a marriage that most can only dream about. With the marriage they had 3 children, Michelle (Joe) Braswell, Miranda (Gregg) Wolf, and Aaron (Casey) Alumbaugh. They enjoyed every second of watching and attending many activities of their 6 grandchildren. Lauryn Braswell, Grant, Garrett and Macie Wolf, Ella and Adalyn Alumbaugh. Their “Pa” will be forever missed but never forgotten. His family could not have received a better role model of a hard working Christian man. He gave of himself unselfishly his entire life. 

He is survived by his wife Lyn, their children, his mother Dorothy Alumbaugh, brother Garold (Mary) Alumbaugh of Wyandotte, OK, sister Karen Alumbaugh and brother in law, Larry Fullerton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Memorial service will be Thursday July 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Christian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Fairview Christian Church from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Contributions can be made to Carthage R-9 Foundation for scholarship opportunities in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
