Juanita Ruth Davis, age 89, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 8:15 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at Spring River Christian Village following a two year illness.
Juanita was born August 20, 1926 in Dewey, Oklahoma. She had lived in the Joplin-Carthage area since the 1940’s. Juanita was employed as an Administrative Assistant with the Sperry-Vickers Corp. in Joplin for over 20 years, retiring in 1982. Juanita was a graduate of Joplin High School. She was a former member of the Duenweg Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 23 years. She served on the boards of the Vickers Credit Union and the Center Creek Golf Club in Sarcoxie, Mo.
Juanita was preceded in death by two husbands, Jack Hutchison, and Bruce Davis. Survivors include a son, David Hutchison, Carthage, Mo., one daughter, Jenna Gess and husband Gerald, Carthage, Mo., a sister, Earlene Endicott and husband Lloyd, Wichita, Ks., 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Juanita’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Deacon Lloyd Endicott, officiating. Contributions are requested to the Carthage Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
