Bythol A. Burr, 84, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, formerly of Neosho, passed away in the early hours of July 14, 2016 at Community Springs Nursing Home in El Dorado Springs, after battling a long illness.
He was born September 18, 1931 in Neosho, Missouri, the first of five children, to Claude and Burnice (Arwood) Burr. Bythol made his home in Kansas City and worked as a U.S. Postal mail carrier, after his service to his country from 1948 to 1952,
Bythol married Mary Lynn Durham in Anderson, Missouri. To this union, two children were born, Stephen Burr (Janet) of Green Valley, AZ and Cheryl Lusk of El Dorado Springs, MO. During his career with the post office, Bythol and Mary purchased property in rural St. Clair, Cedar County, where they eventually would retire to in 1988. Bythol enjoyed his kids, gardening, farming on a small scale and most of all, his wife, Mary of 62 years.
Bythol is survived by his wife; two children; brother, Fred Burr of Seneca, MO; sister, Lilly Lewis (Jerry) of Raymore, MO and two grandchildren, Stephanie Burr and Dalton Lusk. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and grandson, Michael Burr.
Services will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho with J.R. Burr officiating. Interment will follow in Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery with full military services. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
