(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Reina Maria Alvarado-Montoya, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO at the age of 14.
Reina was born on October 24, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM to Jessica Montoya-Span and Gabriel Alvarado. Reina is deeply loved by all of her family.
Reina is a special soul that touched so many hearts in so many different ways. She lit up any room she was in and had the most infectious laugh.
She emulated the definition of strength and never backed down from a fight. She constantly smiled and laughed with her perfect eyebrows and crazy hair but wouldn't hesitate to back hand or kick anyone within reach.

She is survived by her mother, Jessica Montoya-Span; her father, Gabriel Alvarado; two sisters, Jazlynn Montoya-Span and Anaiyah Montoya-Span; her maternal grandparents, Eva and Buzz Boothroyd of Greenfield, MO, and John and Sundra Span of Tucumcari, NM; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City or to the Ronald McDonald House. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
