Chris Maize



On August 20, 1958, Christopher Scott Maize was born in Lockwood, Missouri to Dareld and Sandra Maize. Chris passed away November 16, 2023 at the age of 65 at a facility in Salisbury, Missouri of a long-time illness.
 
Chris is survived by his children Brandon Maize of Lamar, MO, Amber Maize of Oilton, OK, Aaron Maize of Nevada, MO, Marie Maize of Tampa, FL, and Carter Maize of Springfield, MO., two grandchildren; Dalton & Hadley Maize of Nevada, MO. Surviving siblings; Sherry Maize Sharp of Greenfield, MO, Dean Maize of Lockwood, MO, Doug Maize of Summerfield, NC, Penny Maize of Miller, MO, and Sheila Maize Spain of Greenfield, MO.








Chris had a long career as a painting contractor and followed in his father’s footsteps, Dareld Maize, by having his own painting business. Chris was nominated #1 painter in Missouri during his career and he was on TV as Weatherman for a day on KY3 News. They did a special skit about his work.

Chris’ interests were restoring old muscle cars and going fishing, camping, and spending time with all of his family. He also taught the children’s group Sunday School at James River Church in Springfield, MO. He went on many mission trips to spread the good news of the gospel including Russia, Mexico, and many others.

Chris loved helping others every chance he got. Immediate family plans to have a celebration of life service as a later date. Any donations can be made to Teen Challenge or to the Victory Mission in Springfield, Missouri.
