Jess Duncan

Jess Allen Duncan, age 25 of Oklahoma City, OK, entered his heavenly home on November 29, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK. Jess was born September 8, 1998, in Warner Robins, Georgia to Douglas and Kelly Duncan. After his father’s retirement from the Air Force in 2001 the family moved to Doug’s hometown of Jay, OK.

Jess attended Jay Public Schools from HeadStart through high school. He did well in school, he loved to read and learn. He was an avid history buff and excelled in any kind of math. He loved Lego’s and gaming, he enjoyed the outdoors, going camping and fishing with his friends and cousins. He loved the time he spent at his grandparents lake and cabin.








Jess came to faith in Christ and was baptized in 2007. Jess loved God and his country. He was a very compassionate and caring person. He was willing to jump in and help anyone with anything. Once you were Jess’s friend, you were a part of his family.

He graduated high school in 2017 in the top 5 of his class. He began his college career at Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2017 majoring in business. He pledged and became a brother in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity being a very active member. He graduated from OSU earning two bachelor’s degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Marketing in May of 2021.

He applied to OSU’s Masters program that same year and was accepted, attending OSU’s Spears School of Business. Serving as MBA president of his class of 2022 he became very involved and enjoyed coordinating homecoming preparations.

He graduated in December 2022 earning a Masters Degree in Business Administration. After graduation he accepted a position working remotely in Oklahoma City, OK as a Project Budget Manager for Sandia Laboratories known as being Americas premier research and nuclear weapons safeguard based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jess will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Jess is preceded in death by his grandpa Gary Duncan.

Jess is survived by his mother and father, Kelly and Douglas Duncan of Jay, OK; His sister Jacklyn Duncan of Joplin, MO; Grandparents Dennis and Wanda Woodruff of Colcord, OK; Grandmother Ginger Hopkins and her husband Berwin Kock of Grove, OK; His fiancé Samantha McCornack of Oklahoma City, OK; The list of aunts, uncles, cousins, Delt brothers and lifelong friends is long. He loved you all dearly.







Jess’s Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, Oklahoma 74346.

Jess’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 1:00pm, December 9, 2023, Jay Assembly of God Church, 908 N. Main St., Jay, Oklahoma 74346. Followed by his funeral procession to Mount Hermon Cemetery, Jay, OK. Jess’s burial will be at Mount Hermon Cemetery, Jay, OK.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St. Jay, OK 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawson, 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
