(From Nichols-Stephens Funeral Home)Connie S. Quinton, age 57, passed away in Joplin, Missouri on Monday, October 17, 2022 after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was born on April 11, 1965 in Neosho, Missouri to Walter and Sheri (Brown) Elhard, Jr.
Connie graduated from Neosho High School with the class of 1983 and went on to attain a Bachelor of Arts degree at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.
Connie loved life and kept a cheerful outlook, and even though she suffered with pain the last few years, she still laughed and joked and thoroughly enjoyed funny movies. Her broad smiles and laughter were contagious.
To say she had an onery streak was a huge understatement. She enjoyed everyone she met and always found the positive side of every situation.
In quiet times she was an avid reader but was always ready for the next adventure. Arts and crafts were her specialty, and she was incredibly talented in many areas, including woodworking and painting. Even though she was never blessed with children she had a special place in her heart for babies and young children. Connie was considered a ‘class act’ for sure.
Dancing to the beat of her own drum, Connie was an enthusiastic self-proclaimed ‘Trekkie’. On the first date with her husband Rob, they attended a pro wrestling match, just another example of her broad avenue of interests. She and Rob were married in 1995 at Butler Baptist Church and made their home in that area. Rob was the love of her life and they valued time with each other, often fishing together, which was another of her favorite pastimes.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory, her husband Rob and her sister Amy Hocter of Neosho, Missouri.
There will be a visitation from 5-7pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Nichols-Stephens Funeral Service. Graveside services will be at 2 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Snell Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services.
