(From Johnson County Funeral Chapel)Edward William Haffner, 64, Overland Park, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 3pm Monday at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens Indoor Mausoleum.
Ed was born on May 28, 1958 in Webb City, Mo to William and Florence Haffner. He graduated from Webb City High School and went on to graduate from Missouri Southern State University.
He married Lynn Hanson on September 24, 1988 in Kansas City, Mo and to this union they had two children, Marc and Nikki.
Ed was a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop 257, an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic O Say, former board member of the Overland Park Soccer club and he enjoyed going to and watching his children’s sports events. Ed was also an active member at Indian Heights United Methodist Church.
In his spare time, Ed enjoyed photography and took many photos over the years. He was a computer programmer for Yellow Freight and American Century for 26 years before he retired.
Ed is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynn; son, Marc Haffner and his daughter, Nikki Flagler and her husband, Trent. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Indian Heights United Methodist Church.
