Merle Endicott

Merle Calvin “Curly” Endicott, age 95, Reeds, MO passed away peacefully October 11, 2022, at Mercy Joplin Hospital.

Merle was born November 2, 1926, in Duenweg, MO, son of the late William C. Endicott and the late Lena (Rivers) Endicott. He graduated from Duenweg High School in 1944. 

Merle was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy. He was a Boy Scout leader and youth baseball coach as his boys were growing up. Merle worked at Atlas Powder Co. from 1947 to 1983 where he was the acid lab assistant and the acid line supervisor at the time of his retirement.








Merle moved from his home in Fidelity five years ago to live with his son and daughter-in-law. He enjoyed mowing the grass, feeding his cats and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He attended Fairview Christian Church.

Merle married Mabel Virginia Blotter on February 25, 1950. She preceded him in death on November 18, 1970. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Endicott and brother, William V. Endicott.

Merle is survived by two sons, Mike Endicott (Marva), Reeds, MO and Doug Endicott, Los Angeles, CA, one brother, Don Endicott, Claremore, OK, two grandchildren, Matt Endicott, Battlefield, MO and Drew Endicott (Kristen), Tulsa, OK, three great-grandchildren, Jake Endicott, Reagan Endicott and Emily Endicott. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sacry and staff, St. Luke’s Nursing Center and Integrity Hospice for their loving care of Merle.








In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Pioneer Bible Translators (attn: ministry of Yancey & Sheila Yarick) or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in care of the mortuary.

The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Ozark memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
