Roger Brown

Roger Eldon Brown, 77, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital, Rogers, AR on October 17, 2022. He was born November 1, 1944, to Byron and Betty (Pritchard) Brown in Joplin, Mo.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Nye) and his two children, Kevin Brown and his wife (Laura Taylor), Elizabeth Silver and her husband (Jacob), and five grandchildren. He graduated from Duenweg, Mo in 1962. Roger earned an associate degree from the Joplin Junior College. He served in the Army Reserve for 6 years in the 1960s.








He co-owned Midway Hardware and Lumber in Joplin and worked there for almost 50 years until it closed in 2011.

Roger had many hobbies. He participated in trap and skeet shooting leagues and high-powered rifle competitions for many years and won many awards and trophies. He achieved the rank of expert marksman. After retiring from Midway, he built several model trains sets that the grandchildren loved playing with.








He is preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Betty Brown, his sisters Patricia Lawson and Marsha Roesel.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Mason-Woodard on Saturday, October 22. Visitation is at 9 AM, funeral will be at 10 AM. Burial will be at Stone Cemetery in Diamond.
