Henry Leaming

Henry Leaming, Jr, 76, of Jasper, Missouri passed away on October 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Leaming was born on May 11, 1946 to Henry, Sr., and Maurine Leaming. They preceded him in death.

Henry grew up in rural Jasper County, attending elementary in the one-room Summit School where he was the last 8th grade graduate. He attended Jasper High School and later Southwest Missouri State University, where he received a Master’s in Counseling. 








Mr. Leaming spent 36 years working for the Division of Employment Security where he was an employment counselor and a recruiter for the Job Corps program. After retirement, he spent several years driving a van for the Renzenberger Company transporting local railroad personnel. 

Henry was also involved in the family farming operation, which was primarily cattle in his later years. In addition, he served 15 years on the Jasper R-5 Board of Education as a member and president. Henry also taught an adult Sunday School class at the Jasper United Methodist Church for several years.

Henry married Linda Rea on June 25, 1967, and she survives of the home. 








Also surviving is one son, Mark Leaming and his wife, Joy, of Jasper; two daughters, Monica Raymond and her husband, Cory, of Lamar, Missouri and Tasha Leann of Oronogo, Missouri. He is also survived by one grandson, Jeremiah Leaming. 

Additional survivors include one sister, Ann Bays and her husband, Bob; a brother-in-law, Lynn Pitts and his wife, Sue; and several nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Henry is preceded in death by one brother, John Leaming; his in-laws, Doug and Delma Rea; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Pitts.








Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow at Dudenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends and acquaintances prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
