(From Daniel Funeral Home)Gary Lee Hobson, age 70, of Jasper, Missouri passed away October 25, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Gary was born January 1, 1952 in Jasper, MO to Lloyd Eugene Hobson and Clara Christine (Blanchard) Hobson. Gary graduated from Jasper High School in the class of 1970. On November 12, 1977, Gary married Debra Lyn Huff in Republic, Missouri.
Gary was a crop and cattle farmer. He worked in the wheat harvest and also drove a school bus for the Jasper R-5 school district. Gary was very active in school where he was a member of national honor society and student council, was FFA treasurer and senior class president. He was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church and served as president of the Methodist Youth Fellowship. He was an avid country dancer (loved to two-step and teach it). Gary loved going to auctions and had the gift of conversation but the highlight of his life was being a Dad.
Survivors include three sons; Adam Hobson, Jeremy (Lacy) Hobson and Caleb Hobson, all of Jasper, MO; one step-son, Sean Greene of Republic, MO; one grandson, Kolbey Hobson, of Jasper, MO; and three sisters, Adele Hobson of Joplin, Missouri, Rita (Webb) Miller of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Sondra (Gary) Smith of Mindenmines, Missouri.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Debra; two sisters, Karel Owens and Vickie Marcum and one granddaughter, Aurora Hobson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Jasper United Methodist Church in Jasper, MO.
A lunch will be provided at the church directly after the service with everyone welcome to attend.
