Jim Witt

James "Jim" John Witt, age 88, of Pierce City, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Lacoba Homes Inc. in Monett, MO. He was born in Pulaskifield, MO on Saturday, August 18, 1934; son of Edmund and Amelia (Roschevitz) Witt. He was a 1954 graduate from Monett High School. 

On Friday, October 22, 1976, he married Carolyn (Campbell) Terry in Wichita, KS. 









He drove a bus for Continental Trailways and worked for McCormack Armstrong, a printing company. Jim loved music! He enjoyed playing in a band at many clubs in Wichita. Jim liked traveling with Carolyn when they were younger. He enjoyed being outside watching birds and other things in nature. Most of all, Jim enjoyed time spent with family. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO.

Surviving are the following: his wife, Carolyn of Pierce City, MO; one daughter, Natasha Witt of Wichita, KS; one stepdaughter, Debbie (Mike) Goodman of Pierce City, MO; one brother, Steve Witt of Spokane, WA; two sisters, Rosie Meeks of Monett, MO and Connie York of Joplin, MO; five grandchildren, Marina Witt, Kapresse Pouliot, Mackenzie Campbell, Chelsea Kapka, and Jerrod Brittain; two great-grandchildren with another coming in December; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Those welcoming him in heaven were his parents, Edmund and Amelia Witt; three brothers, Victor, Chester, and Elmer Witt; three sisters, Clara May Hull, Joan Stephens, and Elizabeth Kitterman; a stepdaughter, Beth Brittain; and two stepsons, Theron Labat and Chris Terry.








The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Prayer Service and Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM

Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Monday, October 31, 2022, beginning at 10:00 AM with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Sarcoxie, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in care of the funeral home.
