(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. Terry Elwood Jeffries, 84, a lifelong resident of Carterville, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Webb City Health and Rehab, after a recent decline in health.
Terry entered this life on March 19, 1938, in Webb City, Missouri, one of three sons born to the late Orville and Zelphia (Payne) Jeffries. He was raised in Carterville and was a 1956 graduate of Carterville High School.
On October 5, 1956, in Republic, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Mona Causby and to this union three children were born, Deborah, Garry and Tom.
He worked as a shipping clerk at Big Smith Manufacturing in Carthage before becoming the Director of Maintenance with the Webb City School District. He was a former councilman for the city of Carterville, served many years on the Webb City R-7 School Board and was a faithful member of Carterville First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Trustee and Music Director for over forty-years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gerald Jeffries.
Terry is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Mona Jeffries of the home; his three children, Debbie Jeffries of Webb City, Garry Jeffries and wife, Kelley, also of Webb City and Tom Jeffries and wife, Beth, of Carthage; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Jim Jeffries and wife, Jeanne, of Springfield, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Gertie Jeffries of Henley, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City with Mike Morgan officiating.
Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Josh Beecham, Jake Bennett, Aaron Christy, Brad Jackson, Robby Lay and Mitchell Lett. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home. Memorials are being directed to the Webb City R-7 Schools Foundation c/o the funeral home.
