Dorothy Yoder

Dorothy Catherine Yoder, daughter of the late Luther and Celia Youngblood, was born January 2, 1924 in Noel, Missouri. She departed this life on Friday, October 14, 2022 at her home in Sarcoxie, Missouri after a long illness.

She was raised in the Diamond, Missouri area, graduating from Diamond High School in 1941. Dorothy married Allen E. Yoder on December 24. 1942 in Joplin, Missouri, moving to their farm near Sarcoxie where they shared forty-nine years of marriage. To that union four children were born, Sharon, Duane, Connie and Teresa.








Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Huff, Sarcoxie, Missouri and Teresa (Mike) Spicer, Neosho, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Morris, Raytown, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ed (DeeDee) Lowe, Burleson, Texas, Kent (Tina) Lowe, Sedalia, Missouri, Corinne Spicer, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Amy (Zeb) Nageotte, Neosho; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Nageotte, Lauren Nageotte, Seth Lowe, Alyssa Shepherd, Jadon Lowe, Cami Savering and Alexis Bales; one great-great-grandchild, Emmie Shepherd; along with many nieces and nephews; as a host of friends.

Preceding her in death, infant daughter, Connie Sue, May 1950; son, Duane age 20, September 1965; husband, Allen, age 79, September 1991 and son-in-law, Marcus Huff, age 68, September 2015.

Dorothy lived in the Sarcoxie area over seventy-five years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. It was her passion to cook and sew, and work on the farm.








She loved God, and accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior early in life, and was a member of the Church of Nazarene Carthage and Sarcoxie.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie. Reverend Ed Lowe (grandson) will officiate. Burial will be in Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those serving her life by serving as pallbearers are Kent Lowe, Gale Turner, Larry Triplett, Don Chandler, Zeb Nageotte and Russ Ogle. Honorary pallbearers are Mike, Turner, Austin Turner, Mike Morris, Justin Caddick and Larry Turner. Memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice or Faithful friends in care of the funeral home.
