(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Ruth Ann Bronk Stewart went home to be with her Lord on October 29, 2022 at the age of 84. Formerly of Alba MO, she was a resident of Wildwood Senior Living in Joplin, MO at the time of her death.
Ruth was born April 10, 1938 in Watervliet, New York as the first child of Marguerite and Edwin Bronk. Ruth attended elementary school in Watervliet, New York. She attended high school in Troy, New York while working part time as a candy striper at a local hospital.
After graduating from high school, she became a Corp wave in the navy, then trained as a nurse wave at Great Lakes Naval Training Station in Illinois.
Ruth was stationed as a Corp Wave Nurse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Naval Hospital in 1958, where she met her husband, Joe Stewart. Joe and Ruth were married September 13th, 1958. Shortly after that she left the navy to become a full- time wife and mother.
Ruth is survived by her five children, Andrew James Stewart (Sarah) of Granbury, TX, Paul Edwin Stewart (Margaret) of Carthage, MO, Barbara A. Roy (Thomas) of Alba, MO, Audra Jean Barrares (Michael) of Spring TX, and Heather Lyn Lundy (Michael) of Alba, MO, as well as 18 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by her five brothers, William A. Bronk, Charles M. Bronk, Walter F. Bronk, (Rose), Raymond J. Bronk (Linda) Harold R. Bronk (Maryann) and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Susan M. McCullough, and brother James R. Bronk preceded her in death.
Ruth accepted Jesus in 1962 as a young wife and mother after the birth of her first child. Her faith in Christ and her family was very important to her. She loved music and had favorite hymns she loved to sing. Her generosity showed in her love for people, and she never met a stranger. She often used her talents as a cook and baker to make delicious meals and desserts as her way of serving others. Later in life, Ruth went back to finish her nursing school and in 1987, she graduated as an LPN which was her career until she retired in 2005.

Friends and family are invited to attend an informal visitation on Sunday, November 13th, from 2:00-4:00 in the afternoon at Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home, 301 W Broadway, Webb City, MO.
Graveside services are set for Monday, November 14th, at 10:00 AM at Weaver Cemetery at 12701 County Rd 227, Purcell, MO.
