(From Daniel Funeral Home)Joan Dean Oglesby, age 93, of Lamar, Missouri passed away October 21, 2022, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri.
Joan was born March 15, 1929 in Kenoma, Missouri to William Glenn Snook and Alice LaFaye Main. Joan graduated from Golden City High School in the class of 1948. On August 28, 1948, Joan married Charles Wayne Oglesby in Lamar, MO., he preceded her in death in 2012.
Joan worked at Big Smith, and along side her husband at Oglesby Trucking. She loved to go mushroom hunting and fishing.
Survivors include four sons; Randy (Donna) Oglesby, Terry Oglesby, all of Lamar, MO., Kevin (Stacey) Oglesby of Lockwood, MO., and Jeff (Marvina) Oglesby of Lamar, MO; one daughter, Lisa Oglesby of Lamar, MO; six grandchildren, Dillan, Kathleen, Rachel, Shelby, Keaton and Crystal; four great-grandchildren, Maurianna, Kimber, Hayden, Tobias and one on the way.
Preceding Joan in death were parents; her husband; one son, Christopher Wayne Oglesby; two granddaughters, Emily Oglesby and Colbey Oglesby and one sister, Marlene Farmer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lake Cemetery in Lamar, MO.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m, Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the funeral home.
