(From Parker Mortuary)Delmer Richard Daniels, age 86, Joplin, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, October 6th, 2022.
Delmer was born February 12th, 1936 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to the late union of Elmer and Ina (Shuey) Daniels. On March 1st, 1963, Delmer married Doris Ladd in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they were blessed with 52 years before her passing on Sunday, September 6th, 2015.
Delmer attended Neosho High School growing up. After high school he worked as a technician for Eagle-Picher for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1996. He also worked as the Music Director at Wildwood in Joplin. Delmer and Doris were both members of Fairview Baptist Church in Joplin and later attended Spring City Baptist Church in Joplin. Delmer enjoyed fishing and building projects with his grandson, Sam. He had the opportunity to sing with the Watchman Quartet and loved every minute of it. Delmer and his best friend Jeff were two peas in a pod and were always causing mischief. Together they solved the worlds problems one day at a time.
Delmer is survived by his two children, Susan Moore and husband, Steve of Joplin and Rick Daniels of Joplin; two grandchildren, Sam Moore and Cody Daniels; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, October 10th, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel.
