John Wiseman

Mr. John Harvey Wiseman, 75, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday morning, October 2, 2022.

Born 1/26/1947 to Stanley and Alberta Wiseman (Harris) / Drake in Ogalalla, Nebraska. He lived in Colorado Springs for many years. He was Vice President and General Manager for Walter Drake and Sons, a small mail order company located there.

He graduated from Chapman College with a degree in Computer Information Systems while living in Colorado Springs.








John Served in the Navy for four years and received an honorable discharge. He acquired his private pilot license while stationed at the base in Oak Harbor Washington.

John loved water sports: skiing, fishing, jet skiing, tubing as well as a good boat ride with his family. He spent as much time has he could at his lake house in Lake of the Ozarks. He was always delighted when his family and grandchildren would come out to the lake, resulting in the creation of a great deal of precious memories.

Survivors are Nancy, His wife, and children: Tamera Spaulding and husband Brian of Joplin, Chris Wiseman and wife Regina of Springfield, MO and Tim Wiseman of Scottsdale AZ. Grand children are: Samual Spaulding of Joplin MO, and Lauren Spaulding of Atlanta, GA and Caleb, Nathan and Sydney Wiseman of Springfield MO. Greg Coursen, his brother-in-law, of Joplin, Ben Coursen, nephew of Joplin MO.








John was devoted to his family and adored them all. He was an accomplished man in many areas and blessed with many talents. He will be missed by all who loved him.

A private family graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Private family memorial gathering to be arranged. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the Alzheimer’s Association c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
