Michael Freer

Michael Edward Freer, 53, of Joplin Missouri, suddenly passed from this life, October 1, 2022.

He was born in Tulsa Oklahoma, February 24, 1969 to Gayle Cooper and Edward Freer. He had one younger brother, Clay Freer, who was born just 18 months later. Mike graduated from Joplin High School in 1987 and went on to marry his high school sweetheart and love of his life. Together he and his wife went on to raise three children.








Mike was known for being an exceptionally loving family member to all his family, especially his children. Mike was also known for maintaining his many dear friendships. Mike was an avid bass fisherman and guitar player, and spent much of his life fishing with friends and family at his favorite fishing spot, Bushwhacker Lake. He would also take several fishing trips with friends all around the country, his most popular and favorite out-of-state destination being Lake Fork Texas. Mike also played guitar in local bands Smokin’ Toad and Crossmember for many years. He was known for being an exceptional guitar player, and bass fisherman. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family.

He is survived by Fiance Paula Hendrix, children Mandy and Josh Carlile, Alex Freer, and William and Kristen Freer. Grandchildren Zaven and Zandon Carlile, and Ella Freer. Brother Clay Freer, Nephews Nicholas and Matthew Freer, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
