Clay Haverly

Clay Dale “Corky” Haverly of Pierce City, Missouri passed away Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at his home on the farm. He was 81.

He was born October 29th, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to Clay Leonard Haverly and Merrita Valdora (Malone) Haverly. Clay married Beverley Miller in Oceanside, California on June 20th, 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clay graduated from Joplin High School in Joplin in 1959. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corp and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. He was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. 








He worked most of his life as a machinist at Sperry Vickers in Joplin. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City. He spent 51 years living his life’s dream of being on a farm. He loved hunting, fishing, his country, and his faith. He loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his 4 children: Kevin Haverly and wife, Paula of Monett, Missouri; Cara Logal and her husband, Jay of Webb City, Missouri; Brian Haverly of Webb City; Ellen Biesemeyer and her husband, Chris of Jasper, Missouri and grandchildren: Branden Haverly, April Haselwood, Erica Logal, Courtney Rhoades, Katrina Logal, Michael Logal, Alysa Haverly, Nicole Haverly, Kurtis Biesemeyer, and Adam Haverly along with eight great-grandchildren and a brother Jackson Haverly of Dunedin, Florida.








Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening, February 10th, 5:00 – 6:00 pm at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City followed by a Vigil Service and Rosary. A funeral mass will be held Saturday morning, February 11th at 11:00 am with Father Matthew Rehrauer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, send a donation to Unbound Charities in care of the funeral home.
