Aaron Dodds

(From Parker Mortuary)

Aaron Douglass Dodds, 50, of Webb City, Missouri, a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Friday morning, December 1, 2023, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri. Born on March 27, 1973, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the union of Ronald and Carol (Douglass) Dodds.

Aaron grew up in Poplar Bluff, where he attended Poplar Bluff High School, graduating in 1991. He furthered his education by attending SMSU in Springfield, Missouri. Following college, he enlisted and served his country faithfully as a Med Tech in the United States Air Force.

Since 2004, Aaron had been a fixture in the Joplin area. He worked for UPS as a delivery driver since 2014, where he delivered packages with a smile that was more reliable than the tracking numbers. He was the kind of guy who knew everyone's name, their dog's name, and probably what they ordered from Amazon last week.

He was known as an avid movie buff who could always recommend the perfect film for any occasion. His love for sports was undeniable, as he was often found cheering on his children at their sporting events or rooting for his favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. Aaron's interest in old cars was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his appreciation for the stories and history behind each classic design.

Aaron was the epitome of a family man, deeply loving and immensely proud of his family. The legacy of his kind and funny nature lives on through his wife, Steva Dodds, and their six children, Braxton, Parker, and Finley Dodds, and Cyrus, Cayden, and Cael Bolinger. His love also extended to his mother, Carol Douglass Dodds, and his sister, Christy Dodds, and her husband, John, three nephews, Clay, Cache and Cole Bridges, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Dodds, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

As we say goodbye to Aaron, we celebrate the time we were fortunate to share with him. His spirit, a beacon of love and kindness, will continue to guide and inspire us. Aaron's memory will be cherished in the stories retold, the laughter shared, and the love he gave so freely. He has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and though he is no longer with us, his light will shine on in the lives of those who loved him.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Jimmy Dale Huskey officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-8:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to the Aaron Dodds Memorial Account at SMB Bank, for use of his children. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
