(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Bette J Harris, 69 of Joplin, MO passed away on December 8th, 2023 after complications of pneumonia.
Bette was born August 20, 1954 in Springfield, MO to Mahlon and Marion Henry. She grew up in Joplin and attended Memorial High School and Missouri Southern State University.
After college, she worked for Tri-State Surgical Supply, where she met her husband, Randy Harris. They were married in October 1990 and have enjoyed 33 years together. Bette later went to work for the Roper Auto Group and served as office manager for the past 30 years.
Bette is survived by her husband Randy Harris of their home in Diamond, MO and her siblings Jane Melton, of Roswell, GA; Carole Diehm (Randy) of Olathe, KS; Evanna Frey (Tom) of Joplin, MO; and Gregg Henry of Joplin, MO. She also leaves behind a daughter Liz Alford (David) of Burlington, KS; stepdaughter Lori Jackson (Hugh) of Rogers, AR; and stepson, Scott Harris (Mesami) in Sagamihara, Japan. Her grandchildren include Branden Alford (Whitney), Joshua Alford (Elizabeth), Harley Alford, Lauren McDaniel (Keith), Abby Hart (Jake) and her precious great-grandchildren Selah McDaniel and Asher McDaniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mahlon and Marion Henry and her brother Ned Henry.
Bette loved family and cherished every moment spent with Randy and her family. She will be missed by both her work family and her extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Carthage Humane Society.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 14 at 10:00 am at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Visitation to be held Wednesday, December 13 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Mason-Woodard.
