(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Charles Howard Calvin, 84, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
Charles was born on Sunday, January 1, 1939, in Denard, Arkansas, to the union of the late John and Dorris (Peterson) Calvin. He moved to Sarcoxie, Missouri in 1958. He worked for Steadley’s in Carthage, Missouri for twenty-three years. Before that, he hauled hay for farmers and worked on the pipeline with his father, traveling in different states.
He loved fishing, traveling, visiting with people, never meeting a stranger, and going to Aggieville and playing dominoes. He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; siblings, John Calvin, Ollie Gage, Joyce Brown, Edward Neils Calvin, Harley Wayne Calvin, Jackie Parish, George William “Billy” Calvin, and Marshal Eugene Calvin.
Charles is survived by his siblings, C.D. Calvin, of Miller, Missouri, Bobby Calvin, of Nixa, Missouri, Sue Royster and husband, Finis, of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Jerita Clemons and husband Richard, of Carl Junction, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Charles are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Filsinger officiating.
Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Steve Royster, Garrett Royster, Ryan Royster, Dennis Holland, Matt Bass and Joey Patterson. Burial will follow at Harvey Cemetery in LaRussell, Missouri. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
