(From Lakin Funeral Home)Terry Lynn Massengill, age 70, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his home in Republic, MO. He was born in Monett, MO on Wednesday, September 9, 1953; son of Donald Lee Massengill and Symanthia “Joann” (Hartin) Dalton. He was a 1971 graduate of Aurora High School.
After high school, he served in the Army where he was a "Gieber”, a part of a special group of guys who served in Giebelstad Germany 3rd/ 67th ADA A Battery 1970s.
Mr. Massengill married Tina Alley in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, water skiing, playing games with friends and family, and completing crossword puzzles. He loved being a mechanic and helping others. He was an avid Chiefs fan and watched them regularly. Mr. Massengill enjoyed outside activities. He will be missed very much.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Tina of Republic, MO; two sons, Shawn Massengill of Iowa City, TX and Kyle Massengill of Republic, MO; two daughters, Tracy Massengill of Carthage, MO and Lisa Dziennik of Anderson, MO; two brothers, Dennis & Candy Massengill of Muleshoe, TX and Don & Sheila Massengill of Joplin, MO; one sister, Sherryl Soutee of Republic, MO; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Massengill was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Lee Massengill and Symanthia “Joann” Dalton; a son, Clifton Don Massengill; and a stepson, Robert Mapes.
