Beverly Ruhaak

Beverly J. Ruhaak, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyo. passed away peacefully on Sept. 21, 2023 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.

Beverly was born July 3, 1941, in Lamar, Mo. to Virgil and Viola Crank. Beverly and her family lived in the Midwest for several years before settling in Akron, Colo.

While attending high school in Akron, she met and later married Willard Ruhaak. Four daughters were born to this union: Brenda, Pamela, Karla and Gloria. The family lived in Denver, Sterling, and McCook before making North Platte home in 1963.

Beverly was the assistant manager of the Hump Restaurant for several years. She also worked for Schweser’s department store. Later, she ran an in-home daycare. She also co-owned a ceramic shop in downtown North Platte called Welcome Friends.

Beverly was active in her church and support groups. She loved camping, crocheting, music and dancing but most of all she loved her grandkids. She loved having her home filled with the grandkids. They loved spending time with her. She used to tell them that “she” taught Michael Jackson how to dance.

She will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Lindsey of North Platte, Pamela (Reuben) Moyte of Cheyenne, Karla Oliver of Sheridan, Wyo. and Gloria Ruhaak of Lake Stevens, Wash.; grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Matthew, Andrew, Michael, Alex, Stephanie, Valerie, Tyler, Trey and many great grandchildren.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; parents, Virgil and Viola Crank; sister, Judy Crank; son-in-law, Daniel Lindsay; and granddaughter, Jennifer Jackson.

Cremation was chosen and a private family service was held.
