(From Ozark Funeral Home)Donald Lee Harrel, 72, of Centerton, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Circle of Life in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was born on July 20, 1951, in Los Angeles, California born to the late Jack Sr. and Lorena (Thornton) Harrel. He grew up in California, but his family later moved to Lyman Utah where his father worked for a radio station. His family moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico where Don graduated in 1970 from Carlsbad High School.
Don and his best friend Paul, hitch hiked to Galveston, Texas where they parted, and Don came to Arkansas. He worked in HVAC for several years and Wal-Mart Distribution Center. After 29 years with Wal-Mart, he retired in 2015 after dementia took over.
In 1978 he met the love of his life, Diane, who survives. They married on April 3, 1981, and together they had one son, Ryan and one grandson, Logan.
Don’s favorite past-time activities included metal detecting, hunting and fishing and listening to his 60’s and 70’s music. He was a big Razorback fan and loved to cheer on the Hogs!
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; sister Caroline Clemons; brothers, Bill Givens, Jack Jr. and Roy Harrel. Also, brother-in-law Jim Clemons.
He is survived by his wife Diane and several nephews and nieces and cousins. And sisters-in-Law Jo Reena “Kim” Harrel, Carline Givens and Denise Stafford; and brother-in-law Bobby Stafford.
