(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)George Marcus Christian May 22, 1942 – December 1, 2023, Joplin, Missouri. George Marcus Christian, of Joplin, Missouri formerly of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on December 1, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri at age 81.
George was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to Marcus and Lucille Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie, sons – C W 4 Eric J Christian (Shana), Dr. Kevin C Christian (Dr. Gretchen), grandchildren – Brandon, Jackson, Liliana, and sister Linda Christian.
George was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from GTE/Verizon. George was a Master Mason for over 50 years and was very active in the Masonic Fraternity. He was Past Master of Braidentown Lodge #99, where he served many years as Treasurer, and served the Grand Lodge of Florida as a District Deputy Grand Master.
George was a member of the Valley of Tampa Scottish Rite and a charter member of Sahib Shrine in Sarasota, Florida. For many years, George enjoyed working with International Order of Rainbow for Girls serving as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bradenton Assembly #20 and served the Grand Assembly of Florida.
A private Masonic service will be held in Joplin, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Grand Assembly of Florida, 663 California Ave., Ocoee, FL 34761 or the Shriners Hospital.
