(From Lawson's Funeral Home)Thomas Lee Owens, age 75 of Grove, Oklahoma left this life and traveled to heaven on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1948, in Neosho, Missouri to Ruth Byrd and James Edward Owens.
Thomas grew up in Neosho, Missouri where he fished in the creeks, played football, basketball and played in the band. He graduated from Neosho High School in 1966. He then joined the Navy thinking it was safer than the Army! He ended up in Vietnam running the river boat up the Mekong Delta.
He was a man of strong faith and a member of Crossroads Church of Fairland, OK. Thomas was married to Dianne Owens and together they had 3 children: Annette Michelle Owens, Jason Thomas Owens and James Andrew Owens. Thomas will be remembered as a very generous and loving man.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Owens and Jack Reed; his daughter, Annette Michelle Owens; brothers, Jim Owens and Mike Reed; and his sister, Theresa Kelly.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 51 years Dianne Owens of the home; his son Jason Thomas Owens and wife Melissa and their children Alexis Owens, Billy Owens, Jason Owens and Joshua Owens of Miami, Oklahoma and Jamie K. Owens; Son James Andrew Owens of Tucson, Arizona; Grandsons Chris Owens and family of Joplin, MO and Jacob Owens of Joplin, MO; His brother Harvey Owens of Bella Vista, AR; sisters Alicia Pogue and husband Johnny of Neosho, MO, Doretha Evers and husband Mark of Surrey, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Thomas’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, 10:00am, December 8, 2023 at Crossroads Church, 56900 US59, Fairland, OK 74343 with Pastor Jerry Baser officiating. Thomas will be honored with Military Honors from the Grove American Legion Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers you may send memorials to Crossroads Church Youth Program. Thomas’s service will conclude at the church.
