(From Lakin Funeral Home)Gloria Alice Hagebusch, age 82, of Wentworth, MO passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at her home. She was born in Wentworth, MO on Saturday, October 28, 1939; daughter of Elihu R. and Edna Lou (Overall) Poage. Mrs. Hagebusch was a 1957 graduate of Pierce City High School.
She married Les on December 24, 1959, in Sarcoxie, MO. Mrs. Hagebusch spent many years as a support supervisor for Southern California Gas Company.
Mrs. Hagebusch was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Pierce City where she served as the church secretary for over 15 years. She loved people. She always wanted to bake and host for others. She went a mission trip to Latvia in 2006. Mrs. Hagebusch enjoyed entertaining and visiting with others.
Some of her favorite things were gardening, flowers, entertaining, and cooking. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan; she even prayed for them. She had a Dallas Cowboy blanket that she used every single day. Mrs. Hagebusch was known for her blackberry cobblers. She made them for everybody. She loved children, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was involved in the Dry Valley Ladies Group where she served as President for many years. Mrs. Hagebusch has left a mark on so many lives.
Surviving are the following: her husband, Les of Wentworth, MO; one son, Gregory "Greg" (Kelley) Hagebusch of Wentworth, MO; one daughter, Freda (Rick) Malone of Wills Point, TX; five grandchildren, Logan, Trinity, Jackson, Duane, and Davin; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Davis of Strafford, MO and Nelda Hanson of Wichita, KS; three brothers, Ronnie Poage of Ozark, MO, Tom Poage of Springdale, AR, and Carroll Poage of Pierce City, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family members welcoming her in heaven were her parents, Elihu and Edna Poage and a brother, Bill Poage.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Pierce City, MO on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Services will be at First Baptist Church in Pierce City, MO on Monday, October 10, 2022, beginning at 10:00 AM with Pastor Greg Hagebusch officiating. Burial will follow at Van Buren Cemetery in Wentworth, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
Memorials may be made to the FBC Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
