Lloyd Crum

Lloyd W. Crum, 79, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO following a lengthy illness. Lloyd William Crum was born January 3, 1937 in Carthage, MO to the late Kenneth Crum and Prestina (Blevins) Crum. He graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1955. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955 and was an airplane mechanic for for over 20 years. Lloyd served in Honolulu, Hawaii where he met and married Joan Chiyoko Satake on March 29, 1968; she survives.

Lloyd has lived in Carthage, MO since his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent many hours trapping and fishing, going to trapper's rendezvous and finding "treasures" at flea markets. He cherished the time with his family and close friends. He was well known for his conversational skills, and liked telling stories of his military experiences and places he traveled.

Survivors include two daughters, LeAnne Crum Pechman (husband Jeremy), of St. Louis, MO, and Suzanne Crum Burleson (husband Zac), of Carthage, MO; two brothers, John L. Crum, Carthage, MO, and Eddie Crum, Carthage, MO; one sister, June Hull, Ft. Smith, AR; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Kenneth Crum and Wilbur Crum.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
