Jane A. Morris, 93, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday morning, January 2, 2017 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, MO. Jane Ann Warren was born August 12, 1923 in Friona, TX to the late Seldon F. Warren and Amelia (Ficke) Warren. She was a graduate of Friona High School, Friona, TX, Class of 1941. Jane married John A. Morris on October 1, 1941 in Amarillo, TX; he preceded her in death on May 17, 2012. She worked as a salesperson in real estate. Jane attended the First United Methodist Church,Carthage.
Survivors include one son, John R. Morris (wife Maxine), Omaha, NE; two daughters, Linda K. Williams (husband Richard), Carthage, MO, and Susan A. McVey (husband David), Carthage, MO; two sisters, Marilyn Phillips, Vallejo, CA, and Jo Beth Puckett, Amarillo, TX; one brother, Henry N. Warren, Eagle River, AK; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Warren J. Morris, and one brother, Robert S. Warren.
Visitation will be held 2-2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Knell Mortuary. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. at Knell Mortuary. Rev. James Lee will officiate. Memorial gifts are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Carthage, in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, MO 64836.
