Lois Allene Johnson, age 87, Joplin, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Joplin Gardens Nursing Center.
Lois was born June 1, 1929 in Silver Creek, Missouri to the late Bert Hester and Ruth Minnick Hester and had lived in Joplin all of her life.
She worked in the production department at American Wafer for many years. Lois had also worked for the former Newman Furniture Store for several years and even took a part time job at the age of 78 at McDonald's just to have something to do. She will be missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, William Burton Johnson in 1989 and two brothers, Forrest Eugene Hester and Bert 'Joe' Hester, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Mike Johnson and his wife, Kay, Joplin; grandchildren, Michelle, Jamie, Katy, Ryan; and eight great grandchildren, Dylan, Kreighton, Kennedy Rose, Kooper, Karson, Laney Lee, Jackson Dean, Greenlea; and a brother, Cecil Minnick Hester, Branson, Missouri.
Lois has been taken for cremation. A family committal will take place at a later date at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
