Roy Edwin Shouse, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2017, in his home at the age of 79 years.
He was born on January 24, 1937 in Greenfield, MO to John and Fay (Beach) Shouse. Roy graduated from Greenfield High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Helen L. Wilson on May 19, 1956. Roy was a lifetime farmer. He also worked as a truck driver and an automobile mechanic. Roy was a member of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. He was an avid reader. Roy loved his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Fay Shouse; and one brother, David Shouse.
Survivors include his wife Helen Shouse of the home; two sons, Edward Shouse and his wife Erin of Eureka, MO and Ronald Shouse of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Lorna Shouse of Nixa, MO; three grandchildren, Kaleigh, Zachary, and Zane; four brothers, Robert Shouse and his wife Beth of Independence, MO, Carl Shouse and his wife Joan of Lockwood, MO, Rick Shouse of Springfield, MO, and Joe Shouse of Halltown, MO; three sisters, Nancy Davis and her husband Denny of Stockton, MO, Karen Dover and her husband William of Dadeville, MO, and Janice Sneed and her husband Charles of Dadeville, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. until service time in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
