Donald Blaine Rawlins passed away Tuesday morning March 8, 2016 at his home in Fairview, Missouri. Blaine was born July 21, 1929 in Logan, Utah to Bill and Lucile James Rawlins. The second child of four children, one of which, Robert, preceded him in death. He is survived by two siblings, JaNeen (Ivard, of California) and Paul Lynn (Karen, of Nevada).
His family moved to Idaho when he was a young man. After returning from his mission to the Great Lakes Blaine met and married Rosalie Ashdown in the Idaho Falls temple. They raised their seven children in the Grand View, Idaho valley, – Pam (Gary), Cindy (Bill), Don (Paula), Merry Lu (Dave), Richard (Vic), Elaine (Matt), Lauralie (Blair).
In the early 1980's Blaine moved to Fairview, Missouri where he continued to farm. His wife Rosalie passed away in 1992 after a long struggle with leukemia. In 1993 he married Emma Rose Jacobsen of Nampa, Idaho. Shortly after they were married Blaine served his second mission in the Philippines with Emma Rose. Emma Rose passed away from cancer in 2006.
Blaine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities and wherever needed. He is survived by his wife Donna Lou Sommers - who was his companion on his third mission to California, his 32 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Granby LDS Chapel (23030 East Highway 86, Granby) Monday, March 14 at 11:00 am, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. There will be a viewing the evening before from 6-8 in the Relief Society Room for family and friends. A graveside service will be held in Paradise, Utah.
