Robert ‘Bob’ Lee Wilson, 87, Neosho, died March 5, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
He was born July 20, 1928 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Lee and Ethel (Dummitt) Wilson. Bob was a lifelong Neosho resident and worked on Owens Horse Ranch, south of Joplin for a time and then he went to Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon his return to Neosho, he bought a milk route, hauling canned milk for Carnation and Pet Milk Companies. He also had a dairy and custom farm operation. He was a member of Missouri Farm Bureau and Missouri Holstein Association.
Bob married Helen Hetrick on April 24, 1949 in Neosho and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2014. He is survived by two children, Mike Wilson and wife, Tina of Neosho and Katha Winchester and husband, Larry of Joplin; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Bob is preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Wilson and Betty Goettel.
