Randy Macy

Randy G. Macy, age 59, of Diamond, MO passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 after a sudden illness. Randy Gale Macy was born December 28, 1956 in Neosho, MO to Buford Gale Macy and Bonnie Sue (Rickman) Macy. He was a graduate of Diamond High School, Class of 1975. After High School he attended Crowder College for two years. He married Cynthia K. Pendleton on April 20, 1985. Randy worked in the shipping and receiving department at FAG Bearing in Joplin and also at Race Brothers Farm and Home Supply in Carthage. He was a member of the Carterville Christian Church.

Randy was a part of the Goose Creek Gospel Singers and No Apparent Reason. He loved to play the banjo and he was quite the comedian. One of the highlights of his life was playing at Silver Dollar City.

Randy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed cheering the grandchildren on at ballgames and taking them to Branson every summer.

Survivors include his wife, Cyndy Macy, Diamond; one daughter, Kyley (husband Chris) Patterson, Diamond; one son, Jordan (wife Taylor) Macy, Carthage; one sister, Kristi (husband Mike) Harp, Diamond; his mother, Sue Macy, Diamond; in-laws, Shag and Barbara Pendleton, Carthage, and seven grandchildren, Kelley Patterson, Eryn Nixon, Addyson Patterson, Alley Patterson, Greyson Macy, Taedyn Macy, and Laityn Macy.

He is preceded in death by his father, Buford Macy and one sister, Sherry Kelley.

Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Carterville Christian Church. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at Carterville Christian Church. Carterville Christian Church is located at 20123 Gravel Road, Joplin, MO 64801. Senior Minister Robin Sigars of Carterville Christian Church will officiate. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Diamond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Roughton, Matt Harp, Micah Harp, Cory Waters, Tim Powers, Larry Hardy, Randy Wagner, and Rick Rector.
