Surrounded by family and wrapped in the arms of her daughters, Erlynne Cloe Chrisman Stirewalt, 87, arrived in Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:45 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016.
Erlynne was born on July 26, 1928 to Thomas (Tate) Chrisman and Vera Coates Chrisman, LaRussell, MO. She was married to John David (JD) Stirewalt on July 26, 1946 in Columbus, KS. JD preceded her in death on June 26, 1999.
She attended elementary school at Bowers Mill, MO and Sarcoxie High School. She was saved and baptized at the age of 16 while attending Blake Baptist Church. She and JD attended Bykota Baptist Church, Carthage, MO for 21 years before rejoining Blake Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for the last 42 years.
Erlynne worked for 14 years at the Juvenile Shoe Factory, Sarcoxie, MO and then the Missouri Rehab in Mt. Vernon, MO for 17 years.
She is survived by one son, John Stirewalt and wife Vera, LaRussell, MO. Three daughters, Linda Meister and husband Buck, Avilla, MO, Patricia Lawyer and husband, Dave, Sarcoxie, MO and Vera Maggard and husband Keith, LaRussell, MO. 17 grandchildren, Marcella Meister, Shawntrell Boyer, Timothy Meister, Trevor Headrick, Ashly Sampson, Marcy Thomas, Klista Rader, Ryan Lawyer, Brandi Maggard, Brock Maggard, David Maggard, Gennie Moeller, Nickolas Maggard, Jessica Maggard, Tyler Maggard, Bryan Lewis and Donnie Lewis; 51 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; one sister Doris Ann Lombard, LaRussell, MO; as well as a host of family and friends.
Erlynne was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; a bother, AJ Chrisman; a son-in-law, Dwane Headrick; and grandsons, David Meister and Andy Cassidy.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday evening, March 15, at the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, March 16 at Blake Baptist Church with Jerry Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Trevor Headrick, Sam Sampson, Sammy Sampson, Anikin Maggard, Nick Maggard and Mike Cassidy. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Lawyer, Keith Maggard, John Stirewalt, Steve Thomas, Brock Maggard, Tim Meister, Buck Meister, Ryan Lawyer, Luke Rader, Larry Chrisman, Carl Lombard, Bruce Lombard, Terry Lombard and David Chrisman.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, The Gideon’s or IPETE Orphans and may be left with the funeral home.
