Wynonia M. Hinds, age 88 of Joplin, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri.
Wynonia was born October 2, 1927 in Webb City, Missouri to the late Jesse and Vivian Mink. She worked as a nurse aide for the former Elm Hurst Hospital and also worked for Frisco Pharmacy. Wynonia was a member of the former St. James United Methodist Church of Joplin.
She married Calvin Hinds, Jr. in Webb City on November 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death in April of 2001.
Surviving are sons, Steve Hinds of Grandview, Missouri, Michael Hinds of Joplin; daughters, Jackie Taylor and partner, Victor of Joplin, Kathy Bartley and husband, Kevin of Daytona Beach, Florida and Debbie Stitcher and husband, Ron of North Glenn, Colorado; sister, Bernice Moore of Tampa, Florida; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri, with visitation to follow.
Donations can be made to either American Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation, both in care of the mortuary.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and thanks to the nurses and all staff at Brookdale's Foxwood Springs Nursing in Raymore, Missouri for the wonderful care and love shown to our loved one while under their care. No words can fully express how truly grateful we are.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
I am sure she is a relative of my grandmother's, Hazel Clella Hinds, born and raised in Joplin.
