Richard Allen McKinney, 77 years, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born on January 9, 1939 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Clarence and Martha (Coe) McKinney. Richard moved to Anderson, Missouri in 1969 coming from Massachusetts. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from August 1956 to August 1960. Richard was the McDonald County Assessor in the late 1970's. He worked in the Aerospace Industry for several years; owned and operated the Show-Me Airspares in Anderson, Missouri.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark McKinney; four sisters, Doris, Ellen, Betty and Kate; two brothers Clifford and Tom.
He is survived by his two children, Jill Cook of Anderson, Missouri, Charles McKinney and wife Sherri of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers. Bill McKinney and Dallas McKinney both of Chase, Michigan; two sisters, Nancy Whipple of Reed City, Michigan and Carol Nagel of Forestia, Michigan; three grandchildren, Gerard Cook and wife, Kasi of Gravette, Arkansas, Jeffery Cook of Anderson, Missouri, Chelsea McKinney and fiancé, Brandon Witherspoon of Aurora, Colorado; four great grandchildren, Allie and Kinsley Cook, Brayden and Brayleigh Witherspoon; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Richard.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Pastor Ron Adrian will officiate. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri.
