Michael L. Ness, 51, Carthage, MO, passed away Sunday evening, March 20, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Carthage. Michael Lawrence Ness was born April 12, 1964 in Joplin, MO to Tony Ness and the late Montine (Burgess) Ness. He was a graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1982, and went on to get his accounting degree from Missouri Southern State College. He worked as an income auditor at Downstream Casino. Michael married LeAnn Blades on August 15, 1998 in Carthage, MO; she survives. Mike enjoyed going to the lake, spending time with family and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Survivors include his father, his wife, two sons, Tyler Ness, Carthage, and Matthew Ness, Carthage; two brothers, Robby Ness, Joplin, and Frank Ness, Joplin; and one sister Johanna Gibson, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Fairview Christian Church, Carthage. Minister John Mouton will officiate. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO.
