Melba R. Hutchins, Joplin, died March 23, 2016, just two days shy of her 66th birthday.
Melba Davis was born March 25, 1950, in Split Log, MO.
Melba collected pigs and dolphins and loved gardening, bowling, and spending time with family and friends.She was a proud mama and grandmother and enjoyed attending their football games, plays, musicals, and concerts. She loved spaghetti westerns and wrestling.
She married her soulmate, Michael Huthins on March 30, 1969. He preceded her on death on August 2, 2012.
Survivors are her sons, Michael Hutchins (Vicky), and Phillip Hutchins (Jennifer), her grandsons, Dakotah and Ethan Hutchins, one brother, Merle Davis, and three sisters, Betty Craft, Jane Pease, and Linda Harris (George), two sisters-in-law, Sara Gregg and Martha Wirta, and brother-in-law Robert Hutchins (Carolyn). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Melba is being cremated and her nephew John Harris (Vicky) will take her on her last ride where she will be laid to rest with the love of her life at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas, at a later date.
Family will gather May 21, 2016, at Riverside Park in Iola, Kansas to celebrate her life.
