Mary Olive Butler went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Highlands Nursing Home in Owasso, Oklahoma where she had resided since November 2014.
Mary was born August 10, 1918 in Exeter, Missouri to Charles and Florence Haddock. She spent most of her life in Carthage and worked at Smith Brothers Manufacturing plant until her retirement. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and then First Baptist Church of Carthage. She moved to be closer to her daughter in Owasso in 2014.
On October 28, 1939 she married Joe L. Butler and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2002. Out of this union three children were born, Patsy Grimes and husband Ronnie Grimes of Owasso, Oklahoma, Joe D. Butler and John Butler and wife Kathy of Diamond, Missouri. Joe D. Butler also preceded her in death on July 30, 2004. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Carthage, Missouri with burial in Park Cemetery. Ministers John Davidson and Ron Franklin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
