Rex C. Pearson, 80, of Neosho, Missouri, died March 18, 2016 in Neosho, following an extended illness.
Rex was born June 9, 1935 in Granby, Missouri, the son of Cloyed and Sadie (Taylor) Pearson and was a lifelong area resident. Rex graduated from Granby High School and had served in the Missouri National Guard for many years. He owned and operated Pearson’s Food Market and Piggly Wiggly in Granby and following his career in the grocery business, he became a car dealer in Neosho and Joplin, owning Neosho Auto Mart and Pearson’s Auto Sales. He was a member of the McNatt Baptist Church, Granby Masonic Lodge, Neosho Shrine Club and Charley’s Coffee Club.
Rex married Joyce Vance on May 26, 1957; she survives. Additional survivors include two children, Andy Pearson of Neosho and Susan Craig and husband James of Neosho; three grandsons, Austin Craig, Pearce Craig and Carson Craig; a brother, Gene Pearson and wife, Phyllis of Neosho; two nieces, Becky and Libby and a host of other family and friends. Rex always enjoyed being around people and he was a devoted grandfather to his three grandsons.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
