Jeff Scott

Jeffrey Clifford Scott, a beloved father, husband, brother, and grandfather, passed away at his home in Galena, Kansas on October 5, 2023. Jeff was born on December 8, 1960, in Joplin, Missouri and was a life-long resident of the Tri-State area.

Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Kelly Scott, and his four children from an earlier marriage: Shain Scott, Sarah Scott, Samantha Hoffman (Colton), and Suzanne Scott. His legacy lives on through his children and five grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. 








He is also survived by his siblings; Krista Gough of Baxter Springs, KS; Karen Simpson of Joplin, MO; Karla Haverfield of Baxter Springs, KS; and Paul Scott of Summerville, South Carolina. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; Louis Scott and Barbara Clifford Scott, and his siblings; Rick Hood, Randy Hood, Jimmy Scott, and Lisa Scott.

Jeff served in the US Air Force as a medical technician, and was fond of recounting “there I was” stories of his time in the service helping others. After that, he joined the Olathe KS fire department, showcasing his continuing commitment to serving his community and country. 








 Wanting to return to SW Missouri area, Jeff became the proud owner of the Shady Beach Resort in Noel, MO for several years, where he loved to camp, canoe, and talk to people from all walks of life. Before retiring Jeff worked at Jayhawk Fine Chemicals for several years.

A memorial service is planned for a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
