JoAnna M. DeMint, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023 in Joplin, MO. She was born on March 10, 1931, in Springfield, MO, to the late Herman and Frances (Owen) Lathem.
JoAnna was united in marriage to Arthur W. DeMint, Sr. on February 13th, 1949. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1977.
JoAnna was a dedicated homemaker who lived an exemplary life that revolved around her family. She was a talented cook, who loved to entertain, dance, and volunteer.

She was a past Commander of the DAV Woman's Auxiliary and a previous American Legion Post #13 Commander. JoAnna was especially fond of her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Her selfless spirit and kind nature made her a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.
Survivors include her sons, Michael DeMint and Brian DeMint, his wife, Dena, of Joplin; daughter-in-law, Kathy DeMint, of Joplin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, JoAnna was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Lathem; and one son, Arthur Wayne DeMint, Jr.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 1:30 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 12th beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
