Nadine Elder

Fannie “Nadine” Elder passed away October 11, 2023, at the age of 98 at the Heritage Park Assisted Living facility in Mount Pleasant, TX.

Nadine was born June 6, 1925, in Exeter, MO, the daughter of Truman Rae and Neoma Ruth (Messer) Cole.

June 25, 1942, Nadine was united in marriage to Arthur Arnold Elder, who preceded her in death August 27, 1996. 

Also preceding her in death, were her parents; two brothers, Harold Cole and Forrest Cole; her sisters, Virginia Lee, and twin Mahala “Pauline” Jones; her son, Kenneth Arnold Elder; and son-in-law, Darwin Baker.

Two side notes had her husband remained living, Nadine would have passed away on her husband’s 100th birthday. Also, Nadine’s son Kenneth Arnold Elder passed away September 3, 2023. His cremains will be buried with his mother Nadine.

Surviving is her daughter Carolyn Little and son-in-law Don Little, of Mt. Pleasant, TX.; grandson Kyle and his wife Nancy Baker of Denton, TX; and two great grandchildren Aubrey Baker and Cole Baker, both of Waco, TX.

After a short stay in Siloam Springs, AR Nadine and husband spent many years in Joplin, MO raising their family. In retirement they loved RVing, hunting and fishing. Nadine was a member of the Church of Christ in Joplin, MO and later in Mount Pleasant, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, MO at 3:00 p.m.
